Dues, renewals, and doors that actually close
Plenty of systems can take a subscription payment. The hard part is what happens eleven months later, when a membership lapses and half the platform should quietly stop being available. Metrolo enforces that across every other module.
Plans and packages
Define the plans your constitution actually has — ordinary, life, associate, student, retired — and the packages that buy them, including multi-year terms at a discount. Pricing is yours; Metrolo takes no percentage of what you collect.
The validity gate
This is the part that is genuinely difficult, and the reason membership sits at the centre rather than off to one side. When a membership expires, the member keeps their account and their data, and loses exactly the things you decided membership buys — the directory, the jobs board, the member rate on tickets. It is enforced server-side, so an expired member cannot reach a member-only endpoint by keeping the tab open.
Renewal that does not depend on someone remembering
Members can see where they stand and renew themselves. Administrators can see who is lapsing and act before it happens, rather than reconciling a bank statement in March and discovering a gap.
Payment, including the offline kind
Dues run through the same machinery as tickets and donations. Bank transfer and cheque are first-class paths with reference numbers and an approval queue, because a great many member organisations still collect most of their income that way.
Membership & dues — questions
If yours is not here, ask on a call. We answer specifics.
What exactly does a lapsed member lose?
Whatever you configure. Typically the directory, the jobs board and member pricing; typically not their profile, their past tickets or their history. Nothing is deleted on lapse.
Can we handle life members?
Yes — a plan with no expiry. They sit in the same system rather than in a note somewhere.
Can we take payment by card?
Offline payment — bank transfer and cheque — is complete today. Stripe and PayPal adapters are on the roadmap, and we would rather tell you that than let you find out later.
Do members get an invoice?
Invoice data is produced for every transaction. A rendered PDF document is on the roadmap.

Bring the awkward case — the exception your constitution requires, the thing your current system cannot do. That is the useful half of a demo.
